Spring is here! Plan to order your flowers this year from either (or both!) the Whitmore Lake or Dixboro United Methodist churches annual flower sales. Beautiful and healthy plants for you, and the satisfaction of knowing you are supporting the 2008 Good News House build at the same time!

A Look Back: Summer 2007 Build
******************************************************************************** If you are already involved in Habitat for Humanity activities, we hope this website will facilitate communication among participants in order to work together more efficiently. Check "sponsor resources" for news and information on Good News activities. Sample materials used successfully by some of our partner churches to both recruit volunteers and raise funds are available. Take a look! Perhaps they could be of use to your church or organization with your support efforts.
*************************************************************************************************** If you are not yet a part of the Habitat effort to eliminate poverty in our area, we hope this website will help you decide to join us! We have tried to provide the information you may need to understand the home-building projects and how you might enjoy being of assistance.
If you are ready to sign-up for working now, click here to send an email to our volunteer coordinator, Jaime Madigan. ******************************************************************************** Regional News: Habitat for Humanity of Huron Valley (HHHV) has a new project - the ReStore Warehouse. For more information, click here!
HHHV is also seeking Volunteer Crew Leaders. Crew leaders are needed to take small groups of volunteers (5-7) and lead them on a particular task as we build Habitat houses here in Washtenaw County. You are needed for one day, one week or as many days as you are able to give between May - November. If you have construction skills and are interested in the mission of Habitat for Humanity, please contact Lynne Punnett, Volunteer Coordinator, lynnep@h4h.org or by phone at (734) 677-1558 ext. 110.
***************************************************************************************************
National/International News: Habitat for Humanity has organized "Operation Home Delivery" to respond to hurricanes Katrina and Rita. Visit the International Habitat site for ways you might help.
***************************************************************************************************
Interesting Tidbits: To qualify for a Habitat home, applicant families must be able to make a down payment of $500, contribute 300 hours per adult family member of "sweat equity" (volunteer time) into their house or another Habitat house, and make payments on a 25-year, interest-free mortgage administered by Habitat for Humanity of Huron Valley.
