Rehabilitation of the two houses shown on the right were completed in 2009.
Thanks to the efforts of 1,000+ individuals and many groups, the Hamdan & Yates families became tax-paying homeowners.
Plans are now underway for our 2010 efforts.

Interesting Tidbits:
To qualify for a Habitat home, applicant families must be able to make a down payment of $500, contribute 300 hours per adult family member of "sweat equity" (volunteer time) into their house or another Habitat house, and make payments on a 25-year, interest-free mortgage administered by Habitat for Humanity of Huron Valley.

Regional News: Habitat for Humanity of Huron Valley is excited to announce that Home Services are now being offered! For a fee, they will provide anthing from handyman services to complete deconstruction services, with the express purpose of of bringing in additional revenue to fund the building of more homes. HHHV is also seeking Volunteer Crew Leaders.Crew leaders are needed to take small groups of volunteers (5-7) and lead them on a particular task as we build Habitat houses here in Washtenaw County. You are needed for one day, one week or as many days as you are able to give between May - November. National/International News: Habitat for Humanity International (HFHI) has a Disaster Response program which works with the global Habitat community in the areas of disaster mitigation, preparedness, shelter and long-term recovery initiatives to address the housing needs that arise from natural disasters and humanitarian emergency conflicts. They have several groups already at work in Haiti, and are currently sending many more to help with the shelter needs of millions of people affected by this devastating earthquake. Habitat for Humanity International has been working in Haiti for over 25 years, building over 2,000 homes. Visit the International Habitat site to explore ways you might be of assistance.
