Interesting Tidbits:
To qualify for a Habitat home, applicant families must be able to make a down payment of $500, contribute 300 hours per adult family member of "sweat equity" (volunteer time) into their house or another Habitat house, and make payments on a 25-year, interest-free mortgage administered by Habitat for Humanity of Huron Valley.
Have you ever heard of the Habitat for Humanity Chapter of the Family Motor Coach Association? We hadn't! The members of this chapter travel around the country and do volunteer work for affiliates all over. We were grateful for their assistance on June 9, as part of their first visit to the Huron Valley affiliate. Thanks for your help, Caravanners!

Updates on David & Darlene Schaffer's Mission in Africa: David was taken ill and had a kidney removed in South Africa. The surgery went well, and doctors feel the cancer was contained within the removed kidney. In a December 2008 letter Darlene wrote: "David is healed completely from his kidney cancer surgery with no pain from any kind of motion. He is resigned to the lifelong special diet and activity restrictions. His 3 month check-up in South Africa revealed he is doing very well with no sign of cancer returning. They want to see him again in May 2009."
