Habitat for Humanity International (HHI) is the largest nonprofit organization building houses in the United States. More than 625,000 people have safe, decent, affordable shelter due to the work of more than 1,625 affiliates located around the world - one of which is Habitat for Humanity of Huron Valley (HHHV), the support group for the Good News House. Financial support of HH International, HH of Michigan and HH of Huron Valley are investments in the Christian housing ministry. (See "Links" for direct connections to the websites of these organizations)
While the support of these larger organizations is important, the Good News House sponsoring organizations and HHHV provide the direct funding for the construction or rehabbing of the our homes each year. For each new home built in Washtenaw County, approximately $75,000 must be provided by the sponsor organizations and $40,000 by HHHV. For approximately the same amount of funding, two homes can be rehabbed for families. If you are able to assist in obtaining these financial goals, you may:
* make a designated contribution to your local church (see "Links" for representatives of local churches) for its share of the costs for the Good News House 2011, and/or support any fundraising programs it sponsors;
* make a designated contribution to Habitat for Humanity of Huron Valley, either by check (sent to 170 Aprill Drive, Suite A, Ann Arbor, 48103, with a notation of “Good News House” in the memo section of the check) or by credit card (Click here for HHHV online donation form or call 734-677-1558);
* make a contribution to Habitat for Humanity of Huron Valley, using any of the above methods.
Even if your contribution can not be large at this time, YOUR HELP IS NEEDED ! Many thanks for whatever you are able to do!
